Reading: Students will spend time exploring character traits, making connections, writing summaries, and finding evidence in text to support ideas.  

 

Writing: We will continue working within our personal narrative unit to publish their first masterpiece of third grade.  It will be very exciting for the students to complete and celebrate their masterpieces. 

 

Word Study: Students will sort and practice a weekly set of spelling words.  They will have an opportunity to practice these words every day in school.

 

 Math: Unit 1 will focus on strategies for solving addition and subtraction problems using a number grid. Continue to practice your fast facts.  This unit touches telling time and introduces multiplication and division exploration.

 

Social Studies: We will continue our country and the many places we can visit.
