2019 has brought important conversations in our classes about Internet Safety and growing up in the Information Age. We are living in a world where almost everything is connected to the internet: our computers, our vehicles, our phones, even our household appliances! All of these make our personal data and preferences accessible, so how do we keep our personal information safe? How do we become responsible digital citizens, treating ourselves and others with respect? Thinking before sharing is an online behavior we all need to develop.
We have also had some fun designing our dream library for MIS. Using Google Images and library furniture catalogs, students have worked in small groups to come up with ideas to update and modernize our school library. There are a lot of great ideas coming from our students about how to make the library a more comfortable and cozy experience while also being a center for 21st century inquiry!
"You're alive...that means you have infinite potential. You can do anything, make anything, dream anything. If you change the world, the world will change."
- Neil Gaiman, The Graveyard Book
