March has Arrived!
March
Wow, last month flew by! Hopefully, the snow is over.
In reading class, we are wrapping up our biography unit. This week, the students will present their biography character at the Wax Museum.
Later this month, we will begin our Historical Fiction unit. Students will read a variety of books set in history. Readers will discuss plot and setting, mood and tone, and find themes. Students will make predictions and connections.
In writing, we are working through a Journalism unit. We are writing short reports about school and real life events. Later this month, we will begin “If, then…” information pieces.
In math class, students continue to use various skills and strategies to solve multiplication problems. In chapter 5, we will dive back into fractions. Students will learn to add and subtract fractions and mixed numbers.
Students will enjoy several activities to celebrate RAA this week! The Book Fair begins on the 9th.
I look forward to speaking with you at parent-teacher conferences later this month. Reports will be sent home on the 23rd.
Students continue to master content in all areas!
Keep up the good work!
All homework assignments will be copied daily into each student agenda. I will ensure that students copy homework correctly. Myself or a teacher assistant will check homework agendas daily and initial them. Parents and students should refer to the student agenda daily for homework assignments. The student planner will be the main source for homework communication.
Look out for weekly messages and reminders through Remind. I will be using Remind as my main source of parent communication. You are welcome to respond back and communicate with me through the app as well.
