About Me
Hi, I’m Mr. Lucas Bergen, and I’m thrilled to be starting my first year as a general music and choir teacher for grades K-5. My goal is to ignite a passion for music in my students through engaging and interactive lessons. I believe that every child has the potential to develop a love for music, and I strive to create a classroom environment that fosters creativity, collaboration, and joy.
I am a 2024 graduate from Rowan University, and I have a Bachelor of Arts in Music, and Bachelor of Music in Music Education. I have specialized training in both general music instruction and ensemble instruction. I’m committed to creating an inclusive and supportive environment where every student can thrive. Outside of school, I enjoy playing drums, attending live music events, and exploring new music genres.
In addition to teaching at CBS & MIS, I’m also working as a percussion technician for the BRHS Marching Scotties with Mr. Laude (the 4th and 5th Grade instrumental music teacher). In this role I work with the drumline and help them be the best musicians they can possibly be. I also travel with the band to their competitions all over the state of New Jersey! I used to be a member of the Marching Scotties, so its amazing to get to be on the other side now.
I’m looking forward to an amazing year of making music with my students and sharing my love for music with them!
