Writer's Workshop Supplies:

• Writer’s notebook – a marble composition book decorated with pictures that help them generate ideas
• Pens, pencils, erasers (same as reading supplies
• Word work/Vocabulary
• Homework/finishing up: drafts, spelling/vocab. practices,  typing final drafts, and studying

Writer's workshop is an opportunity for students to grow ideas, write for chunks of time, learn to revise and edit their writing, share their ideas and develop skills that lead to strong, fluent writing for the rest of their lives.

 

For writing, our approach is gradual, as we build up to and learn the skills needed to create amazing writing pieces. Students will use models, graphic organizers, and work with me to help with any writing struggles they may have.
