September Family Focus

 

Welcome to the start of a new school year! We will spend the first few days learning about each other, our classroom, and start to learn about our daily schedule and procedures.

 

In September, we will launch Reader's Workshop. This will give us an opportunity to explore strategies that will set us up for a year of reading success. It is important that you read each night to help you with your fluency and reading comprehension.

We will also begin Writer's Workshop and learn about our Writer's Notebook. This will be home to your many wonderful writings that you will author this year.

 

In Math, we will review place value, addition and subtraction facts, and explore some engaging ways to reinforce and develop our skills.

 

Social Studies will begin with learning about Patriot Day and Constitution Day. We will then start a unit exploring maps and map skills.
