April into May: City Campus

Summer BSI invitations are due on May 8th! Confirmation letters will be sent the week of June 3rd.

3rd Grade:  Students have been working on dividing 3-4 syllable multisyllabic words for reading and spelling. Their work with isolated syllables on their syllable frames builds to words, wordlists, sentences, and passages in each lesson.  We are also practicing fluency passages and paired nonfiction articles with note taking.

The 3rd grade math students completed activities that reinforced what they learned about order of operations and word problems.  They enjoyed the order of operations mazes.

Both groups continue to work through their individualized learning paths on i-Ready.

4th and 5th Grade LA: Our 4th grade readers have been utilizing phrase lists and short passages to practice fluency, accuracy, and spelling. Fourth graders worked on double vowel syllables (and the options we need to consider while spelling.) Fifth graders focused on fluency passages from Read Naturally and comprehension skills on their individualized i-Ready paths.

4th Grade Math: Our April BSI sessions focused on the students’ newest skill of long division.  Grid paper kept our columns organized as we worked through each step.  This skill was applied to related money problems as well.  I-Ready pathways continue to be practiced in each session.

5th Grade Math: Our April sessions have been centered around  cumulative review activities which will continue through early May to prepare for state testing.  Individualized i-Ready pathwork continues.
