Congratulations on a fantastic Spring Concert! I have videos of every selection we played so we can watch them in your lessons these coming weeks.
All 5th graders will be going to the middle school to play with the band on Monday June 4th. Stay tuned for more info!
The intermediate band (plus any enterprising 5th grade beginners who can learn the music in time) will be performing at the MIS pep rally on June 15th. We'll be playing Blue Note Rock and Rolling in the Deep. More info will be given closer to that date.
Please read the schedule carefully, especially for the dates of before-school rehearsals for intermediate band.
4th graders should hand in their MIS-owned instruments and accessories on Monday June 11th. 5th graders may hand them in after the pep rally. Summer loans are available. I will provide you with a summer loan contract if you are interested. When I get it back (signed) then I will give you your instrument back. I will also clean the instrument and give it a tune-up before you take it for the summer. Anyone may borrow an instrument until September.
March was Music in our Schools Month.
How does music connect you with your school community?
Check out my poster in the elevator lobby by the band room to read about your teachers' connections with music!
I started playing clarinet in the 4th grade. By 8th grade, I knew I was going to be a band director. Most of my friends were in the band, and I thought the music that we created together was just EXHILARATING. I participated in concert band, jazz band, marching band, pit orchestra, youth orchestra, an amateur sight-reading orchestra, community bands and orchestras, and teen arts festivals doing chamber music. In the Eastern Wind Symphony, I make glorious music every week with so many inspiring people. Music connects me to people of every age and ability, and we don't even have to say a word!!

Before school band schedule: Students may report as early as 7:30. Please arrive early enough to START at 7:45. If no one is at the door to open it, enter through the front doors!!!! The band room is not close to the back door, so we cannot hear or see students who arrive late. Rehearsal starts at 7:45.

Bordentown Regional High School's Marching Scotties (which includes students from Bordentown Regional Middle School) put on a funky, modern show called Outside the Box this year! We performed at varsity football games and many competitions throughout September, October, and early November. Go Scotties!
